In early May, Raynor could stand while holding on to something and for about a second or two on his own, which he practiced repeatedly (he has gotten very good at falling!). By the end of the month he could stand on his own for quite a long time, and even moves his arms around and picks up toys from a standing position. He can get himself into a stand on his own, without using anything to pull himself up. He loves to push things around and walk behind them. Pretty much anything that slides along the ground is fair game. He only rarely uses the furniture to "cruise" around, which is what Quentin liked to do. He is also much more open to walking while holding someone's hands than Quentin was (although he seems to prefer to do it on his own).
So far, Raynor doesn't seem to be a picky eater like his brother. He loves fruit, including strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, mangoes, and cherries. He also does a good job eating vegetables (peas, green beans, broccoli, cauliflower, and occasionally carrots). He loves cheese and yogurt (usually mixed with fruit, but he likes it plain too). He is eager to try new foods and tends to try things more than once even if he didn't seem to like it the first time. He gets upset if he sees someone eating something that he doesn't get to try. It is a lot of fun sharing strawberries from the garden and cherries from the tree with him. He also had his first taste of ice cream this month. That was a big hit.
Quentin just finished Kindergarten at the end of the month. He liked school, but was definitely ready for summer. He will doing a day camp this summer (he did the same camp last year) and is looking forward to it. His reading is coming along great!
